Apostille Certification of Hungarian Documents and Translations
What is Apostille certification?
The Apostille certification is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dublin for any document in a foreign language which has been prepared and/or certified in Ireland. Most commonly used to certify that the notary who has certified a notarized translation is registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It can also be used to authenticate any translation, document and/or signatures on the document. Specifically, the Apostille certification may verify the country of origin of the document, the identities of both the signatory and the authority issuing the certification, and the conditions under which the document was signed. The Apostille certification may be stamped directly onto the document or attached to it.
Do I need an Apostille certification of my document?
If your documents are to be used in any country signed up to the Hague Convention of 1961, they may require Apostille certification in the country in which the document was produced in order to be accepted as legally valid documents. For example, documents in Hungarian which have been produced in Ireland but which are for use in Hungary or further abroad must be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dublin for certification by Apostille. This may include such documents as marriage or birth certificates and translations of these.
For more information on the Apostille certification and why it may be required of your documents, please contact us or alternatively visit our partners at www.apostille.ie.
